Biochar Pirolisi System
Memanfaatkan tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) melalui proses pirolisis dapat menghasilkan biochar. Biochar ini memiliki berbagai manfaat, antara lain meningkatkan kesuburan tanah, mengurangi emisi gas rumah kaca, dan menekan biaya penggunaan pupuk. Dengan demikian, penggunaan TKKS sebagai bahan baku biochar tidak hanya mendukung pertanian berkelanjutan tetapi juga berkontribusi pada upaya mitigasi perubahan iklim.

Proses ini melibatkan dua tahapan utama. Tahap pertama adalah karbonisasi, yang bertujuan untuk menghilangkan sebagian besar bahan non-karbon dengan pemanasan pada suhu 400°C – 600°C.
Tahap kedua adalah aktivasi, yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan struktur pori. Proses aktivasi ini dapat dilakukan dengan dua metode, yaitu aktivasi fisika dan kimia.
